Certified Comfort Pro

Why Daikin —
and why through us.

We hold Daikin’s top certification tier — Comfort Pro — earned through ongoing technical training and installation audits. It’s the difference between “we sell Daikin” and “Daikin backs our installs” — and it changes what your warranty actually looks like on paper.

Real questions about Daikin — real answers.

  • Why does the “Comfort Pro” badge actually matter?
Comfort Pro is Daikin’s top dealer tier — it takes ongoing technical training, warranty compliance, and installation audits to hold. In real terms it unlocks Daikin’s strongest warranty coverage (12-year unit replacement and lifetime heat-exchanger warranties on select furnaces) that isn’t available through standard dealers. If a company can’t show you an active Comfort Pro credential, that coverage doesn’t come with the equipment.
  • How is Daikin different from Trane, Carrier, or Lennox?
Daikin is the world’s largest HVAC manufacturer and has led inverter and variable-speed heat-pump development for decades — most other brands are catching up to that tech now. Their U.S. lineup includes the Goodman family too (Daikin acquired Goodman in 2012). Practically: quieter operation, better dehumidification, and stronger cold-climate performance than most legacy brands.
  • Will a Daikin heat pump actually work through a Palouse winter?
Yes — the Daikin Fit and cold-climate models are rated for continuous heating operation down to about −13°F, and capacity holds strong to roughly 5°F. For our real −20°F snaps we size the system to the load and pair it with a small backup strategy (electric strip or gas furnace, depending on the home). Sizing matters more than badge here — a manual-J load calc is part of every quote.
  • What does the 12-year warranty actually cover?
Daikin systems carry a 12-year parts warranty; select furnaces include 12-year unit-replacement + lifetime heat-exchanger warranties. Verbatim from live-site home page Daikin section. Two conditions: register the system within 60 days of install, and the install has to be by a certified Comfort Pro dealer for the unit-replacement tier to apply — that certification is a Daikin program requirement, not a marketing line.
  • Do I have to buy Daikin’s most expensive tier?
No. Daikin’s lineup runs from single-stage entry-level to variable-speed premium (Fit, One+, DZ series). The Comfort Pro install standard protects the warranty across every tier — you get the same coverage on a base furnace as on a top-of-line inverter heat pump. We’ll tell you the tradeoff in plain terms during the walk-through, not push you up-market.
  • What happens if a part fails five years in?
Warranty parts ship through the Comfort Pro dealer channel. Local Daikin distribution keeps common parts (capacitors, contactors, control boards) in stock — we carry the top failure-rate items on our trucks year-round so we’re not waiting on freight during a Palouse cold snap. That’s the difference between a two-hour and a two-day repair.

Straight pricing

Honest ranges.
No mystery quote.

Real Palouse install ranges from 24 years of quoting Moscow, Pullman, Lewiston and Colfax homes — not national averages. Every home is different, so the real number comes from a walk-through and a manual-J load calc.

Furnace replacement

$4,000 – $8,000

What's included: Equipment, install, thermostat, safety controls, permit and haul-away — matched to your existing venting.

What moves the number: 80% AFUE like-for-like sits near $4–$6k; 95%+ high-efficiency (often needs new venting) runs $6–$8k.

Central AC replacement

$5,000 – $10,000

What's included: Outdoor condenser, indoor coil, line-set inspection, refrigerant, electrical, and startup — sized for your load.

What moves the number: System size and equipment tier drive most of the range. Ductwork condition and electrical service can push higher.

Cold-climate heat pump (ducted)

$12,000 – $22,000

What's included: Full cold-climate system built to hold rated capacity down to about 5°F, with the right backup strategy for our −20°F snaps.

What moves the number: Larger homes, multi-zone layouts, and adding a small gas backup all move the number up. Load calc before we quote.

Ductless mini-split (single-zone)

$4,500 – $9,000

What's included: Wall-mount head, outdoor unit, line-set, electrical, and startup for one room or one small space.

What moves the number: Multi-zone systems scale from here — each additional head adds several thousand depending on unit and run length.

Why the range is honest

Five things move the price: equipment tier, system size, ductwork condition, whether it's a straight swap or a fuel/equipment change, and any code-required electrical, gas or venting work. Two homes on the same street can quote thousands apart — and both can be honest quotes. We do the load calc, walk you through the scope line by line, and stand behind the warranty locally.

Common questions

Answers before you call

Straight answers on service, scheduling and the work itself. Don't see yours? A real person is one call away.

Do you offer emergency service?
When your heat, plumbing or refrigeration fails, call us first — urgent calls get priority scheduling and same-day appointments are often available. A real person answers during business hours and books the soonest slot we have.
How fast can you come out?
For most service calls we can get you on the schedule quickly, often same-day or next-day. Urgent calls are prioritized. A real person answers our phone and books your appointment — no phone tree.
Should I repair or replace my system?

There are five main questions that need to be considered when deciding to either replace or repair your heating and cooling system:

  • How old is your system? If your system is more than ten years old, it may be wiser to invest in new, higher efficiency equipment, which could cut your energy costs by up to 40%.
  • What is the efficiency level of your current system? What was the efficiency when the system was new? Unfortunately, replacing parts of your old system will not improve the efficiency. If the energy savings of using a higher efficiency system will cover all or part of the cost of investing in new equipment, you should seriously consider replacement of the old system.
  • What is the overall condition of your system? If your system is in solid condition, it could be wiser to simply repair it. But if your system breaks down often, you should consider replacing it. Consider the 50% Rule.

The 50% Rule: If the cost of repair vs. replacement of your system is less than half of its value and you haven't been suffering the financial burden of frequent service calls to keep your system up and running, repair may be easier on your checkbook. Ask your technician to calculate the efficiency and energy usage of your system to help make a determination.

Do you give up-front pricing?
Always. You'll know the price before any work begins — no surprises, no pressure. We believe honest, transparent pricing is the foundation of a relationship that lasts decades.
